Removing a supporting wall may seem like a daunting challenge but in fact is relatively easy to do and we should know as we’ve removed a lot of them. To remove a supporting wall, you would need to support the joist above or the wall above. This varies from job to job depending on your house construction and layout.

Once its safely propped up you can then remove the wall then fit a steel beam (RSJ) to support the floor or wall above. These beams will be calculated by a structural engineer and the work will be signed off by building control. We can over see all of this for you or alternatively you can appoint your own engineer and apply for a building notice yourself. We can also remove chimney breasts, cut new openings for doors & windows or alternatively block them up. Whatever alteration you need be it internal or external please give us a call.
